Tours Available!

THS board member Laura Wright will be offering a guided walking tour of the downtown Talkeetna Historic District for the public on Sunday, June 23, starting at 1:00pm at the THS museum. Please call the museum for details or to make payment arrangements. Tours are $10 per person ($8.00 for groups of 10 or more) and include the museums three buildings, two out buildings and many other historic sites in the Registry of Historic places! Tours can be arranged in advance by calling the museum to be put in the schedule.

2013 summer hours

The Museum will be open from 9:00am to 5:00pm 7 days per week beginning June 1st.

Admission to the Museums 3 buildings is $3.00 per person, though children under 12 years of age, locals and THS members are free. Admission includes an NPS Ranger talk, held twice daily, at 10:30am and 2:30pm as well as a video viewing option throughout the day.

Please call the Museum to prearrange a week day a visit.

"Moose on the Loose" & new "Mini Meese"!!!

Watch out! You might suddenly see "Moose on the Loose" in Talkeetna! Walk through town and visit each uniquely designed and decorated Moose. Maps with Moose Art locations are available at the Talkeetna Chamber Kiosk and moose patterns can be purchase for decoration at the Talkeetna Historical Society Museum. And do not miss "Moose on Parade", July 4th at noon. Following the parade, all Moose Art will be on display in the Talkeetna Village Park until they are auctioned off to the highest bidder as a fundraiser for the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce, Talkeetna Artist Guild and the Talkeetna Historical Society.
